This morning I was asked if I listened to NPR. Apparently, I gave the right answer, because I got to have lunch with Renee Montagne, the noted NPR host of Morning Edition. There were 9 of us including Renee and her editor. We discussed all sorts of things, including "The way things used to be," some possible ways to use technology to solve news research and collaboration for reporters, and "When are you going to be on "Wait, Wait, Don't Tell Me"(she's been on it twice. Here's one.)
All-in-all, it was fun and interesting, and thanks to Renee I have joined the Facebook group "All I want for Christmas is Carl Kasell's voice on my answering machine".
