My talk at EclipseCon

This EclipseCon will be my fourth, but it will be the first year I give a talk: Eclipse in the Enterprise, Lessons from Google, with my colleague and friend, Terry Parker. This will be a fairly similar talk to the one we gave at Eclipse Day at the Googleplex, only condensed and brought up to date (we make new mistakes learn things all the time!)

Terry and I are very excited to give this talk at EclipseCon, and if there are any areas you would like us to try to focus on, don't hesitate to let me know.

I'm excited that both you and Terry will be at EclipseCon this year. It's always great to run into you guys.

Is Terry a Lost fan?

I don't think so. Else we would have geeked out about it already.

As well, I'm looking forward to seeing you and the other inmates from EclipseSource.

I would love to hear some perspectives of what people found useful about Eclipse at Google compared to other environments. Does it make their lives easier? Is it too intrusive? What would be the top 10 bugs/enhancements fixed at Eclipse.org?

I would like to see a personal perspective from things.

Also, does Google deploy something like the Usage Data Collector (UDC) to collect information about what their developers use [1] within Eclipse? For example, concrete data makes it possible to answer the question that a view is totally worthless because noone actually uses it :)

zx, those are interesting points, I'l bring them up with Terry.

We wanted to discuss usage gathering at the last talk, but decided to boot it. But then again, we didn't use up our full time. Let's see if it can't get back in.

By the way, those usage stats are excellent.
